Wayne Brucar has practiced criminal defense since 1983. His profession has always been the defense of those prosecuted and persecuted by the State and Federal Government. He currently concentrates in state level criminal trial litigation, federal level criminal litigation and state and federal appeals for both criminal and civil cases.

Mr. Brucar graduated with High Honors from Chicago-Kent Law School in 1981. He was admitted to practice in Illinois and the United States District Courts for Northern Illinois in 1981. The same year he published The Centralized Panel For Administrative Law Judges: A Survey of Seven States for University Publications while serving as a Herbert Harley Fellow of the American Judicature Society.

After serving as an Adjunct Professor of Law in Legal Writing at John Marshall School of Law from 1984 - 1987 he worked as a public defender in DuPage and Lake Counties. During this time he obtained a Federal grant to develop and run a specialized drug defense unit within his office. In addition to producing a wide ranging manual on how to aggressively defend drug cases, he developed a unique motion which can be used to force the State to disclose and produce confidential informants in drug transactions before trial.

Mr. Brucar has taken hundreds of felony cases to jury verdict and has run literally thousands of bench trials and motions. His practice includes death penalty litigation on both a trial and post-conviction level.

In 1997 Mr. Brucar founded the firm which today is Brucar & Yetter. He personally handles everything from traffic matters to murder trials as well as appeals and post-conviction petitions.
